The cars started lining up shortly after 4:00 pm on Monday, October 22nd – the day of my 30th Anniversary Client Appreciation Wine & Cheese Party! Kyle was at the end of the driveway directing traffic. And they kept coming…

Barb spent days collecting negatives for those clients that RSVP’d. My gift to those in attendance was all their film negatives!

There were displays throughout the studio and spilled into my home – which was open to everyone.

The food was plentiful as was the wine and punch!

Holly, Allyssa and Janelle, the serving girls, did a great job! And they got into the spirit of the event by dressing in clothes from the 70’s!

Luke was also helping – but he always seemed to be in the background – cool outfit, Luke!

Barb Dyck, RNG (you must ask her sometime what that stands for!) was kept busy handing out Gift Bags and Negatives to those that came – there was quite a line-up for awhile!

Oh yes – one of the portraits on display was of the very first family I ever photographed!

One of the features of the event was the introduction of Redfox Designs. These are Fine Art Images that have been photographed by me and are available for purchase for your home or office! We had two Door Prizes of the Fine Art Images – congratulations to Jonathan and Laurie!

This is my baby sister, Janie Thiessen, who made it all happen! Barb and I spent over a year planning this event – but Janie was the person that did all the running around, phone calls, food ordering, organizing… what can I say?? Thank you Janie!

And now I want to thank all my former clients that have supported me over the past 30 years in photography. I can’t believe it has been 30 years! I have seen so many wonderful people during that time. It’s hard to believe – 30 years…. I tell people I just just 2 years old when I started! :-D

Just a reminder – if you didn’t make it to the party – you can still get your film negatives! Just give us a call and Barb will get them ready for you to pick up – just $30 per session.

Thank you… thank you!

Evry budy was lisining exepte fore Jaydyn….

Oh my – what can I say?! This was one of most interesting sessions of the year! 8 grandchildren from 3 separate families came into the studio for a special gift for the grandparents. Jen booked the session and at the consult she let me know that she enjoyed the interactive ’storytelling’ type of photograph. The children ranged from 13 years to 6 months.

I think the school age children were pleased to be here rather than in school – but one of the 3 year olds….. Well, she didn’t want to be here and let everyone know it! We tried again and again to get her to join the others in the photo – but she just refused! Finally – after more than a 1/2 hour she said she would stand at a certain point – which was at least 6 feet away from the group! I quickly took 4 photos before she ran out of the room.

The mother was frustrated – Jen was frustrated – I was frustrated – but what can you do????? 3 year olds have attitude. I was told that I was exactly this willful when I was that age – so I could completely sympathize with Jaydyn.

Well, finally I called it quits – it just wasn’t working. Jen and I went into the presentation room to view the images. When this image came up we had to laugh! It so totally showed exactly what had taken place! Jen said that the grandparents would probably love this and she ended up choosing this image. Because the image was not a standard size – we decided to add a quote and she chose “Grandparents and Grandchildren are God’s gift to each other.”

But after they left I read a few comments left by the children in my Guest Book and came across something one of the children had written…. “Evry budy was lisining exepte fore Jaydyn” And I just knew that this was the verse that needed to be on this image! I ran it by Jen and she thought it was hilarious and said I could go ahead an use it. This portrait will be displayed in a Love Seat Size image in my studio. It is one of my favorites of the year!

Thank you Jen and children!
