Precious girls

Filed under: "What's New" — Marlene Fast @ 10:50 pm

Bobbi came in with her mom for a consult a while ago. Mom booked an extended family session and Bobbi wanted to have her own little family photographed. I suggested that perhaps we should do the family and girls on another day. My experience has been that a child’s attention span is as long as what their age is! :-)

I showed Bobbi my new ‘white room’ renovation. I added this addition to my studio in 1990 – but in the past 5 years I have rarely used it. I moved the back wall 4 feet closer to the window – installed a very light maple laminate floor and painted the walls ‘Cloud White’. When Bobbi viewed the room during the consult – it wasn’t finished – she decided this was the look for her. It was finished just 3 days ago – and this was my first session in the room.

We started off the session with the 3 year old – and we got some absolutely precious, timeless images of her!

Then we photographed the three girls (7 year old twins!) and another wonderful image was captured.

These girls were such fun to photograph! They giggled, and they danced for me. This is one of my favorite images!

Next came a beautiful warm moment with Bobbi and the twins. Another one of my favorite images. Doug loved this image when he first saw it projected!

And then it came time to photograph the family. At this point the girls were getting a bit antsy, but we got some wonderful storytelling images of the closeness of their family. From when I clicked the shutter for the first time till the last image – the entire session took just 40 minutes! And we have some wonderful images.

Thank you Doug and Bobbi for being my first family photographed in my new “White Room”. Thank you for sharing your girls with me for a short while – I loved their laughter and giggles, their silliness and fun, their dancing and smiles!

Yes – we’re having a party that took 30 years to to put together!

I am just so excited about this. I have been in business 30 years!!! Can you believe it?? I like to say that I was just two when I started! :-) But seriously – this is a Client Appreciation Wine & Cheese Party. I wouldn’t be here without you – my many clients. You’ve made it happen. You’ve made it fun and exciting! I hope that I have given you years of pleasure with the portraits I have created and captured. So, of course the question is… how can I ever thank you?? By having a PARTY! So – mark your calendars NOW – Monday evening, October 22, 2007 between the hours of 4:30 and 8:30 pm we’ll be serving a little bit of wine – a little bit of cheese, some veggies, cheese and crackers and the reason everyone has to come – some fabulous home made dainties baked fresh by my very favorite Aunt!!!!! It just doesn’t get any better than this.

Oh yes – another thing…. if you RSVP by October 15th, you will receive your Film Negatives FREE as a Thank You from me. If you have been a client when I was using film – you will receive all your negatives that evening!!! But, don’t despair if you can’t make it – they will be available for purchase for just $30 plus taxes after the party!

During the evening, which is a ‘come and go’ by the way, we will have some memorabilia on display – our serving personel will be wearing what people did in 1977 when I photographed my first sessions! There will be door prize draws as well.

Okay – now on to the BEST part! During the 15 month period from October 23, 2007 and December 31, 2008 you will have a chance to win a fabulous Trip for 4 to Walt Disney World in Florida! C-o-o-o-l-d Session!

Filed under: "What's New" — Marlene Fast @ 3:29 pm

Last evening I had my first ‘fall’ outdoor session. The family arrived with jackets and reluctantly removed them. Needless to say we were all quite chilly – but we had a great time nonetheless! They snuggled into each other to keep warm. Here are two of my favorite images from the session.

It is launched!

Filed under: "What's New" — Marlene Fast @ 3:37 am

Great – great news!!! My website is launched – on September 10, 2007! This is so exciting. I just checked it over and found some duplicate images – oh no – I thought I had taken care of all of that. So, back to the drawing board to post new images and remove the duplicates.

I hope that you enjoy what you see and if you have any questions, call me – or email me. I’ll respond – I promise!

Now I want to use a smiley face!!!!!!!

Just thought I’d throw in a recent image I took while in Banff. Yes – I do photography something else than just people!

Ciao for now.

Website Woes

Filed under: "What's New" — Marlene Fast @ 7:06 pm

Okay – what is happening here??? I contacted the company where I purchased my website template – and instructed them that I was ready to “Go Live” – they sent me 6 emails with details I need to do to “Go Live”. I thought I had done all they instructed – but I can’t view my site! What am I doing wrong! I think I will need to call Patty and ask her to help. I’m sure it is something stupid that I’m doing.

In the meantime – here are a few favorite images from recent sessions….
